My current research focuses on the cognitive dynamics of person construal. More specifically, I am interested in questions such as when we construe individuals in terms of their social group memberships versus personal attributes, how our knowledge of or familiarity with the individuals in question changes these construals, and how higher-order causal beliefs (e.g., about the nature of personality, about society and social structure) impact the stereotypes we have and how we use them.
